Want to Open the Eyes? Lift the Brows!

A brow lift can be an eye-opening experience, literally. The eyes are framed by the eyebrows and eyelids, two areas of the face that are prone to sagging. And when the brows sag, the eyelids do too, often slowly covering the upper portion of the eyes and eventually reducing vision. A brow lift can raise this tissue out of the eyes, restoring a more youthful appearance and improving eyesight.

If sagging skin and droopy brows are covering your beautiful eyes, come into STC Plastic Surgery in the Inland Empire for brow lift surgery. Dr. Machida’s advanced techniques allow for natural-looking results and quick recovery from this transformative procedure.

How a Brow Lift Can Enhance the Eyes

The face is made up of many small features including the eyes, brows, eyelids, cheeks, lips, chin, nose, and jawline. These features work together to create your beautiful and unique look. When aging happens, it is a whole-face event, although some areas may age more rapidly than others. Aging in one area can affect the appearance of other areas.

A brow lift lifts and repositions the skin on the brows. This lifting directly impacts the skin on the eyelids. As the brows are lifted, they draw from the eyelids, utilizing this droopy skin to maintain their new positioning. Patients with extensive aging in the eyelid area may benefit from blepharoplasty, aka an eyelid lift, performed in conjunction with their brow lift surgery.

A Customized Approach to Target Your Aging Where It Happens

Dr. Machida is one of the top facial plastic surgeons in the Inland Empire. His specialization in facial surgery has allowed him to hone his technique and master multiple methods for each procedure type. Dr. Machida’s short-recovery facelift allows patients to return to many activities after just a week of downtime. His transformative brow lift procedure uses the same advanced techniques as our world-famous facelift to create a customized result for each patient.

Dr. Machida uses three different techniques for brow lift surgery. He’ll choose the option that best meets your aesthetic goals. Our brow lift techniques include:

  • Traditional Brow Lift – A traditional brow lift relies on a classic technique that has been used for decades to lift and tighten the brows. Incisions are placed in the hairline. Muscles are tightened, excess skin and fat are removed, and the brows are repositioned. Placing incisions in the hairline means they won’t be visible after healing, although some patients with a receding hairline are not good candidates for this technique.
  • Direct Brow Lift – Dr. Machida’s favorite technique for brow lift surgery! A direct brow lift places the incisions at the top of the brows. This technique is highly effective for lifting the brows into their optimal position while retaining a natural look. Scarring is hidden by the eyebrows and is imperceptible for most patients.
  • Lateral Brow Lift – Brows don’t always sag equally. If the outside edges of your brows are starting to droop, but the remainder is still in a youthful position, a lateral brow lift may be the ideal solution. This technique uses incisions at the temples to lift the outer edges of the brows.

When Surgery Isn’t the Right Fit: Non-Surgical Options to Lift the Brows

Surgery is the most effective option for lifting the brows, but patients that aren’t ready for an invasive procedure may be able to benefit from an injectable treatment like BOTOX® or dermal fillers. Ask us if these non-surgical options can benefit you.
