Bellafill vs. Restylane®: Comparing the Two Dermal Fillers

Which dermal filler is right for you? There are many different options available, each with unique benefits.

Explore two of Dr. Machida’s favorite fillers, Restylane® and Bellafill. Will one of these powerful options become your next beauty secret?

How Dermal Fillers Work

Dermal fillers are a solution to facial volume loss. As you get older, your skin starts sagging and fat pads shift downward. Dermal fillers bring back youthful volume to the face by smoothing wrinkles, filling in hollows, and plumping up the lips.

You can use dermal fillers on their own, or pair them with other facial rejuvenation treatments. Combine dermal fillers with your facelift to enhance your results and look even younger! After cosmetic surgery, fillers can maintain and extend your procedure’s results.

Dermal fillers are an ideal solution to facial aging, but unfortunately, their results are usually temporary. Most hyaluronic acid fillers last for about six months. You’ll need to return for touch-up injections to maintain your youthful appearance.

Which Dermal Filler Should I Choose: Restylane® or Bellafill?

There are many different types of dermal fillers. Two of Dr. Machida’s favorite fillers are Restylane® and Bellafill. Learn a little more about each option to find your best fit.

Restylane®

Restylane® is a versatile hyaluronic acid filler that can treat many areas of the face, including the cheeks, brows, and lips. Restylane® has a soft, gel formulation that looks and feels very natural. Restylane® is well-tolerated by most patients, and allergic reactions are very rare.

Like many hyaluronic acid fillers, Restylane® is reversible. This filler is ideal for patients who want to try out a new look, but aren’t certain how injectables might change their appearance. Most patients are delighted when they see Dr. Machida’s natural-looking results, and treatment reversal requests are rare.

Bellafill

If you want a filler that lasts longer than a few months, turn to Bellafill, one of the longest-lasting dermal fillers available. Bellafill is a collagen-based filler that contains polymethyl methacrylate. While your body might quickly absorb or metabolize other fillers, Bellafill’s unique formulation enables it to last much longer. Many patients enjoy results for five years or more after a single treatment.

Bellafill is ideal for smoothing wrinkles or treating depressions from acne scars.

Bellafill is a unique filler, and many doctors aren’t familiar with it. Dr. Machida is delighted to bring his patients this long-lasting, unique filler option.

Which Dermal Filler Should I Choose?

Restylane® and Bellafill are both excellent options. Dr. Machida confidently recommends these products at STC Plastic Surgery. For a versatile and reversible filler, choose Restylane®. If you want longer-lasting results, choose Bellafill.
